Warranty Policy

1. Warranty legal terms and conditions

A serial number for the product is essential for the validity of the warranty. Ellay.com reserves the rights to reject warranty if the serial number has not been provided by the customer or has been altered or modified after the original purchase of the product from the dealer. Ellay.com’s obligations are limited to repair of the defect or replacement of the defective part or at its discretion replacement or refund according to price of the product. All warranty repairs must be carried out only by an Ellay.com Authorized Service Centre. All warranty claims will be rendered null and void, if a repair has been attempted by any unauthorized service centre. Ellay.com holds no liability towards any reimbursements, claims and damages that may result from the unauthorized repair of the product. If a product has been repaired or replaced under the terms of this warranty, it does not in any way extend or renew the warranty period of the product. In certain cases, repair or direct replacement of the purchased product under the terms of this warranty may be fulfilled with functionally equivalent service exchange units. This warranty is only applicable to defects in material, design and workmanship.

The warranty does not cover the following:

Repair and replacement of parts due to wear and tear, periodic checks, maintenance and replacement of consumables such as batteries, light bulbs, fuses, antennas, headphones, microphones, cables and recording heads.

The product has been abused or misused or has not been used for its normal purposes or in accordance with Ellay.com’s instructions on usage and maintenance. If there are defects caused by the usage of the product in conjunction with accessories that are not approved by Ellay.com for the use with this product.

Product failure is due to incorrect installation or its use has not been in accordance to the instructions and technical or safety standards given in the product user manual. Accidents, Acts of God, lightning, water, fire, public disturbances, improper ventilation, voltage fluctuations or any cause beyond the control of Ellay.com.

Unauthorized modifications and alterations have been made to the product for it to comply with local or international technical standards in countries for which this Ellay.com product was not originally designed.

Battery damage that has been caused due to overcharging or use that is not in accordance with the product user manual. The product serial number has been altered, deleted, removed or made illegible.

Unauthorized battery chargers have been used to charge the batteries. Any tampering or breaking of the seals on the battery enclosure or cells.

This Ellay.com warranty is not transferable. This warranty will be the purchaser’s only and exclusive remedy. Neither Ellay.com nor its service centres listed in this warranty document shall be liable for any incidental or consequential damages or breach of any express or implied warranty of this product.

DISCLAIMER: Ellay.com shall not be liable for the loss of any saved/stored data in products that are either repaired or replaced.

2. Extended warranty legal terms and conditions

Mechanical, Electrical, Home appliances or Kitchen appliances Breakdown – What is Covered

The customer will be reimbursed the cost of repairing the covered item if it breaks down during the Policy Period. Ellay.com will reimburse the cost of replacing the item, if the covered item is impossible or uneconomical to repair.

Mechanical, Electrical, Home appliances or Kitchen appliances – What is Not Covered

  • Mechanical, Electrical, Home appliances or Kitchen appliances breakdown which is covered by manufacturer’s warranty.
  • Existing manufacturer’s warranty active on the product. Natural and inevitable wear and tear or gradual deterioration caused by performance.

Damage (Accidental/Liquid/Cracked screen) - What is Covered

Accidental or liquid damage due to being in contact with any liquid through spillages, damp conditions, and natural weather conditions and leaking batteries during the Policy Period. Ellay.com will reimburse the cost of replacing the covered item if damages are impossible or uneconomical to repair or are above the value mentioned within the Policy.

Damage - What is Not Covered

  • Mechanical, Electrical, Home appliances or Kitchen appliances breakdown covered by manufacturer’s warranty.
  • Current manufacturer’s warranty active on the product. Natural and inevitable wear and tear or gradual deterioration of performance.

Damage caused by:

  • You or your family member intentionally damaging or neglecting the covered Item.
  • The covered item not being used by you or your family member
  • Not abiding by the manufacturer’s instructions
  • Superficial damage
  • Servicing, inspection, maintenance, dismantling or cleaning of the covered item

Policy Limits - Applicable to All Policies

Ellay.com will reimburse for repair or reimbursement of a covered item is if the cost of repair falls within the range of the purchase price of the product. If Ellay.com has chosen to reimburse the goods, a depreciation scale will be used against the product, which is based on when the claim was been reported.

The depreciation scale followed by Ellay.com is 0-12 months – 0% (100% of product value is payable)
